I used to hate Sundays because it meant that the following day will be Monday and the weekend is finally over. But now I don’t. Why? Because I have a Lazy Sunday morning routine and a productive Sunday evening routine. I realized that the main reason I hated Monday was because of how unorganized I was; because of that, I always had too much on my plate the next day.


I keep telling you guys that having a routine for things that matter to you will make your life so much easier. I have a skincare routine, morning routine, study routine, monthly reset routine, and self-care routine. This has helped me to stay organized and super productive while enjoying what I do. You can do the same.


In today’s post, I will be sharing the best Sunday evening routine that will set you up for a great productive week. Ever since I started following this Sunday evening routine, I don’t hate Mondays anymore and I find that it frees up time during the week.

Productive Sunday evening routine

Go grocery shopping

Going grocery shopping every Sunday will save you so much time during the week. I personally prefer to go grocery shopping on Sundays because the supermarket I go to is always crowded and busy on Saturdays and I don’t like shopping in a crowded environment.

Make a list of all the ingredients you will need to meal prep and get them. If you’re meal prepping for the entire week, go to where you can buy fruits and veggies in bulk to save some money. Farmer’s market is a great choice plus the goods there are always fresh and organic.

If you don’t know what meal prepping is, It’s simply the act of preparing a meal or recipe, then portioning it out to create grab-and-go meals for later.

If you’re always busy during the week and find it hard to create time to make fresh meals, you have to try meal prepping.

I personally love to eat fresh meals and I have the time to make them so once I’m back from shopping, I use this opportunity to wash, disinfect, chop, slice, dice, and store my fruits and veggies. This saves me so much time when I’m cooking later on.

Clean your space

After meal prepping and organizing, you probably have some dishes to do. Load them into the dishwasher or wash them right away. Once that is done, wipe down the kitchen counter, sweep/vacuum, and mop. I’m the type of person that can’t function in a messy environment so my space is always clean.

Have some me time

You should always rest when you think you need one. On Sundays is when I like to do my self-care routine. This includes taking a long warm shower, doing an intensive skincare routine, and just pampering my body with my favorite body products. Once that’s done, you should put on some clean comfy clothes and maybe light up some candles to calm your nerves.

Plan your outfits

I can’t remember where I learned this trick but my life hasn’t been the same since I started planning my outfits ahead of time. I realized that one of the reasons I hated Monday mornings was the mess I had to make just to choose what to wear. Since I started planning my outfits for the entire week, I have not only saved my room from becoming a mess but also created some free time which I now use to journal.

If you’re new to this, try planning your outfit for the following day and see if it makes any difference in your morning. I bet it will.

Sunday Night Routine

By the time I’m done with all the tasks mentioned above, the moon is out already. I usually get those all tasks done before 8:30 pm then proceed to do the following before calling it a day

Finish any pending work

Use this time to finish your assignments, projects, notes, etc. I don’t like carrying the previous week’s tasks into a new week so I use this time to make sure I get it all done and sorted. This will allow you to start the week with a clear mind.

Plan your week

I love planning out my weeks. It’s the best time to set new goals, track your progress, and celebrate your wins. The first thing I like to do is to reflect on the previous week. What went right, what I need to improve on and so much more. This is the weekly review template I use.

The next thing I do is open my Notion dashboard and create my weekly plan. I’m obsessed with Notion and I have my entire life planned on Notion. Sleep early

The last thing you want is to wake up tired on a Monday morning. I don’t usually sleep early but on Sundays, I try my best to sleep as early as 10:30 pm. This helps me to get my beauty sleep and allows me to wake up feeling energized and ready to face the day.

If you struggle to fall asleep quickly, try not to use your phone at least 30 minutes before you get to bed. If you have a lot on your mind, try journalling and let it all out and make sure your room temperature is appropriate and the lights are dim. I hope this helps.
