INGREDIENTS

500g Peeled and diced Lauki or bottle gourd made into 1.5″ chunks
500g Mutton on the bones cut into 1.5″ pieces
2 Medium Onion
1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
2 Tomatoes Chopped
4 Tbsp Oil
Dry Spices
Salt to taste
1 Tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 Tsp Garam masala powder
1 Tsp Debbie Red Chilli powder
1 Tbsp Green Coriander

INSTRUCTIONS

Begin by peeling and dicing the lauki or bottle gourd into nice and chunky pieces about 1.5″.

Set the Instant Pot on sauté and keep it on high Or in the pressure cooker.Add oil and when the oil becomes a little hot add sliced onion and fry well until nice and golden brown in color

Add the ginger garlic paste and keep on frying everything together.

Add the mutton pieces and mix well.Next, add the chopped tomatoes and the dry spices and fry everything together until you see the oil and the mutton is nicely fried by. The color will change and become darker too. You will also get a lovely Bhuna aroma from the mutton.

Now, pour water about 3 cups and mix it well and close the pot.

Cook the mutton until it’s done. About 17 to 20 minutes.

Mix it.Now, add the diced lauki or bottle gourd pieces and mix well with the cooked mutton gravy. There should be 2 cups of gravy in it.

Close the lid of the pot or pressure cooker and cook for another 5 mins.

Sprinkle Garam masala powder and cook on a dum( very low heat) for 5 minutes.

Garnish with chopped cilantro or coriander leaves and enjoy with some hot rice or pita bread/ roti.
